A serial car thief is back in custody after he allegedly cut off the electronic ankle bracelet intended to keep tabs on him while hes in the community, Winnipeg police said.
Police said the 15-year-old boy, a Level 4 offender in the Winnipeg Auto Theft Suppression Strategy, removed the monitoring bracelet while he was in the 600 block of Sherbrook Street on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
He is the second youth to successfully remove a GPS-tracking bracelet, valued at $2,500, since the one-year pilot project began April 5
