Faith, 10, who is also diabetic, has worn a necklace since she was three. Austin, 9, got his bracelet for free last year under the No Child Without program offered by the charitable Canadian MedicAlert Foundation.
'Wearing it makes me feel a lot better, because if I have to go in an ambulance and they don't know I'm a diabetic, (MedicAlert) will tell them if I can't,' Faith says.
Alwyn Bendico, 10, who gets an itchy rash and throws up if he eats eggs, shrimp, peanuts or cheese, shares the sentiment.
'It makes me feel safer that (my bracelet) tells people I have food allergies,' he says.
Children are in the care of many people over the course of a school day, from recess to lunch to after-school care
