The fanciful treasures of King Tut s tomb are being exhibited at the Dallas Museum of Art after bringing a record-breaking number of patrons to the exhibition s last five venues.
Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs came to Dallas, Texas as part of a three-part encore tour following engagements in the U.S. and London. In addition to the items shown in the original tour, the Dallas exhibition features four new never-before-seen artifacts: a pectoral necklace featuring solar and lunar emblems and a scarab; a bracelet with a scarab clasp; and two miniature coffins nested with one inside the other, which originally contained the remains of a baby who is believed to be one of King Tut's stillborn children.
People of all ages have an enduring connection and fascination for Tutankhamun, and this tour gives a whole new generation the chance to discover the wonders of ancient Egypt, said Zahi Hawass, secretary general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt. I welcome people from all across the Southwest to come behold the boy king's treasures
